Privacy policy

1. Scope

This policy describes information handled by the 07734 iPhone app, website, and friend-to-friend paging service. The built-in local line can be used without creating a network account. Real paging, number assignment, purchases, and account-linked features use the services described below.

2. Information we handle

Account and service identifiers

When you use Sign in with Apple, Clerk provides an account identifier used to authenticate you. Clerk may also hold information supplied through that sign-in flow, such as an email address or Apple private relay address. Our Convex database stores the Clerk identifier and your assigned pager number; it does not store your Clerk email as a profile field.

Pages and social features

• Pager numbers, numeric or alphanumeric page content, timestamps, delivery state, and device capability.
• Accepted and blocked number relationships, page requests, and screening preferences.
• Optional Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, or Discord handles you choose to attach to a page. A handle is disclosed to that recipient, not placed in a public directory.
• Reports you submit, including the reason and a verified snapshot of the reported page or disclosed handle.

Onboarding and purchases

Optional onboarding answers may include a birth decade, how you heard about 07734, why you want a pager, and what smartphone habit you want to leave behind. Apple and RevenueCat process purchase and subscription transactions. We receive entitlement status needed to unlock devices, AIRTIME, or custom-number rights; we do not receive your full payment card number.

Information kept on your iPhone

The app keeps pager messages, locally assigned rolodex names, settings, alert choices, entitlement mirrors, and other state in local storage. Rolodex names are not uploaded as network display names. Story videos are rendered to a temporary local file and are shared only when you use the iOS share sheet.

Permissions and sensor data

Microphone and speech-recognition access are optional and used to transcribe a page you dictate. The app requests on-device recognition where supported and does not store your dictation audio, but Apple may process speech when on-device recognition is unavailable. Motion data drives the pager’s light and shadows; it is not stored or sent to our backend. Notification permission is used for page alerts.

3. How information is used

• Assign and route pager numbers and messages.
• Authenticate accounts and preserve purchased entitlements.
• Screen unknown numbers, enforce blocks, and investigate reports.
• Remember optional callback handles you chose to provide.
• Operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the service.
• Understand broad onboarding segments and where people discovered the app.

07734 does not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking identifiers. We do not sell personal information.

4. Who processes information

We use service providers only for defined operating purposes:

• Apple for Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases, optional speech services, notifications, and the system share sheet.
• Clerk for authentication and account sessions.
• Convex for database hosting and paging functions.
• RevenueCat for purchase and subscription entitlement management.
• OpenRouter and its routed model provider for the built-in OPERATOR’s generated replies. To create a reply, the service may send recent page bodies from your OPERATOR thread. Do not send sensitive information to the OPERATOR.

Other users receive the pager number and page content you send them, plus an optional callback handle when you deliberately attach one. They do not receive your Clerk account identifier, email address, or local rolodex names.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, investigate abuse, or preserve the security and integrity of the service.

5. Your choices and controls

• Use the built-in local line without a real paging account.
• Decline microphone, speech, or notification permission.
• Screen, accept, block, or unblock pager numbers.
• Report a received page and block its sender.
• Clear a callback handle, which removes its active disclosure records.
• Erase locally stored pager messages and sign out.

Erasing a message on your iPhone does not by itself erase the server record used for routing, abuse evidence, and service integrity.

To request access, correction, or deletion, contact support@07734.app. We may need to verify ownership before acting. The current app does not yet provide an in-app account deletion control.

6. Retention and security

We retain account, page, relationship, entitlement, and report records for as long as reasonably needed to operate and protect the paging service, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We do not currently promise a fixed deletion schedule. Temporary custom-number reservations expire; retired numbers may remain reserved to prevent reassignment to a stranger.

We use authentication and access controls designed to limit access, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. 07734 pages are not advertised as end-to-end encrypted. Do not use the service for secrets, emergencies, or information requiring a regulated secure channel.

7. Children

07734 is not designed as a service for children. The optional birth decade question is broad onboarding information, not age verification. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the service, contact us so we can review the situation.

8. Policy updates

We may update this policy as the app or its service providers change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, when appropriate, in the app.
